Microsoldering FAQs

What is microsoldering and why does it matter?
Microsoldering is component-level repair on a circuit board: replacing or re-attaching tiny parts such as charging ICs, HDMI ports, and backlight circuits under a microscope. Most repair counters only swap whole parts. Board-level repair can bring a “dead” device back without replacing the logic board.
Do you repair PS5 HDMI ports in-house?
Yes. We replace PS5 and Xbox Series X/S HDMI ports under the microscope at our Emu Plains workshop and never send your console to a third party. We also repair Nintendo Switch charging ports and chips, DualSense stick drift, and overheating consoles.
Can you fix a MacBook that won’t turn on or was damaged by liquid?
Often, yes. We diagnose charging ICs, short circuits, and backlight faults on MacBook Air and MacBook Pro logic boards, and clean liquid-damaged boards with an ultrasonic bath before any component work. We tell you what we find before we proceed.
Can you recover data from a dead or water-damaged phone?
We can often recover data from phones and iPads that won’t power on or are stuck in a bootloop, because the repair happens at board level. Recovery depends on the damage, which is why we diagnose first and work on a No Fix, No Fee basis.
What does No Fix, No Fee mean?
If we can’t diagnose and fix the fault, you don’t pay for the attempt. We confirm the issue and the price before work starts, and completed repairs carry a 12-month parts and labour warranty.
